Currently, CEE has 851 students in total, including 447 undergraduate students, 404 graduate students, and 23 overseas students. There are also 9 post-doctoral researchers in the college.

We have three majors for undergraduate programs, which are Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental and Ecological Engineering for Environmental Sustainability .

Part I. Objectives of Undergraduate Programs

1. Environmental Science (applicable for students enrolled after 2014)

Program Objective: The program of Environmental Science aims to train students with strong social responsibility, environmental awareness and scientific backgrounds that are able to play a significant role in Environmental Science or other related areas. Part II . Classes for Undergraduates

We also have several kinds of classes for our undergraduates to join in, according to their interests and specialties.

1. Undergraduate Internationalization Class

The Internationalization Class for undergraduates was established in 2012. Each year, 30 students are selected into this class. Students will be taught by senior teachers, and will receive funds to support their international exchange programs.

2. Elite Research Class

The Elite Research Class (ERC) was jointly established by Institute of Urban Environment (Chinese Academy of Sciences). Starting from 2014, 30 freshman undergraduate students are selected into ERC every year. In order to enhance students’scientific and technological innovative ability, the ERC implements dual-adviser system, and they are required to conduct summer research in a research lab either at CEE or IUE. The students of this class could apply for “Elite Scholarship” or Research Assistant Allowance during their studies and internships.

3. Comprehensive Class

Lead by CEE, the Comprehensive Class is jointly established by enterprises and institutes in the field of environmental science, ecological science and oceanography. The aims of the class are to train talented managers with professional technical background and project technicians, and improve students’comprehensive quality and professional skill by sending students into enterprises for internships and practices.
